Restore Windows Files and Folders

For 1&1 Professional Backup

Learn how to restore files and folders in the event of hard drive failure, accidental deletion or just to revert to an older version of a file.

Please note:
The 1&1 Professional Backup uses TCP port 443 for communicating with the backup server. Please ensure firewalls, as well as IP Security Policy, are not set to block incoming and outgoing traffic on TCP port 443.

Start the 1&1 Professional Backup application.

Select My Computer click the Recovery tab. Backup Manager overview

From the Location drop-down menu, select Files and folders. Recovery overview

From the Backup time drop-down menu, select a date/time. Available backup times

Tick the boxes containing a plus sign to expand folders and expose their subfolders. Tick the empty boxes next to those folders or files that you would like to restore. Selection of folders and files

When you have made all of your selections, click Recover to begin restoring the files. Start Recovery

If any of the files or folders being restored already exist, you may receive a prompt asking if you would like to overwrite these files. Do not overwrite any files unless you are absolutely certain. Backup Manager prompt

The backup procedure will begin, and a status page will display until completion.
