What is the VNC Remote Console?

The VNC Remote Console is offered only to 1&1 Dynamic Cloud Server as a solution for situations where you may not be able to access the server over the network. The VNC Remote Console is similar to the Serial Console access that is provided to dedicated server customers, however, since Dynamic Cloud Servers are virtual machines, there is no physical serial port to utilise for Serial Console access. The VNC Remote Console is the alternative.

The VNC Remote Console can be accessed from the 1&1 Control Panel and opens up a VNC connection to the server which is displayed in a pop-up window in your browser. The VNC Remote Console functions essentially as a monitor to your server. Whatever is displayed on the screen of your server is shown in your browser window. You can use your keyboard and mouse to interact with your server.
