Rename a 1&1 Dynamic Cloud Server Linux Instance

Learn how to rename a 1&1 Dynamic Cloud Server instance for Linux from the 1&1 Control Panel.

Dynamic Cloud Servers ordered March 2012 or later, have the ability to hold multiple Cloud Server instances within one package. In order to help you differentiate between up to 5 Cloud Server instances within the same package, you can rename each instance. Use the steps below to rename an instance.

Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.
Step 2
Click on the Server Administration panel title from the 1&1 Control Panel Start page.

Check the box next to the Dynamic Cloud Server instance and from the Administration drop-down, select Hardware Configuration. Overview of server instances

Step 4
Enter a new name for the Cloud Server instance in the VM Name text box. When finished, click on Next. Hardware configuration of server

As long as you have not changed the hardware configuration and only changed the name, the price will remain the same. Click on OK to proceed. Terms and Conditions
