Integrate Shared Storage on a 1&1 Cloud Server (CentOS6)

For 1&1 Cloud Servers

Learn how to integrate the Shared Storage into CentOS 7.

Prerequisites:

  • You have the shared storage to create and configure the access permissions for the desired server.
  • You have downloaded the Kerberos Key.
  • You noted the NFS path.

Step 1
Install the required packages:
:~# yum install krb5-workstation nfs-utils
Step 2
Download the zipped Kerberos keyfile from your Cloud Panel.
Step 3
Unzip the kerberos keyfile, copy the krb5.conf and krb5.keytab file and insert them into /etc.
Step 4
Activate and start the necessary services:
: ~ # Systemctl enable nfs-secure
Secure: ~ # systemctl start nfs-Secure
Step 5
Optional: If the error message Failed to issue methodCall: No such file or directory is displayed, then perform the following commands:
: ~ # Ln -s /usr/lib/systemd/system/nfs-secure.service
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/
nfs.service /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/
Step 6
Restart the server:
: ~ # Reboot
Step 7
Create the directory under which the storage is to be mounted:
: ~ # Mkdir / mnt / shared
Step 8
Mount the shared storage with the option sec = krb5. For this you need the NFS path.
Example:
: ~ # Mount -o sec = krb5 vid12345.nas1.lan: / vid12345 / mnt / shared
