Rename a 1&1 Mail Basic Address

Learn how change the name of your e-mail address, including which domain the e-mail address uses.

Step 1
Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel using your Customer ID OR domain name and your password.

If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the package in question to reach its Administration page.

Click the Manage E-mail Addresses link from the Mail panel.

Click the e-mail icon next to the e-mail address in question to open a set of options. Manage e-mail addresses home page

Click the Settings link from the list of options. Options menu

Click the Edit button next to the E-mail address. The edit button is adjacent to the e-mail address

Enter the new e-mail address name and select the correct domain from the drop-down box. When you are finished, click the OK button to save your changes. The Rename E-mail Address section will allow you to make your changes

A confirmation page is displayed informing you that the changes should take effect in approximately 5 minutes The message confirms the process is complete

Because the e-mail address has been changed, you will need to update your e-mail program's settings to reflect the changes.
