Restore a Wordpress Backup through the 1&1 App Centre

For Wordpress installed in Standard Mode on Managed Server contracts through the 1&1 App Centre.

Learn how to restore your Wordpress installed in Standard Mode through the 1&1 App Centre to an earlier version.

Should something unexpected happen to your Wordpress installed in Standard Mode, you can revert your Wordpress installation to an earlier version, if you have a backup available.

This process will restore all data, themes, settings, etc. that were currently enabled or available in the Wordpress system at the time the backup was made. This may allow you to restore your Wordpress to a working version, but will result in some data loss inherent in chosing to restore from a date in the past.

Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.

Click the 1&1 App Centre link from the Hosting panel.

Locate your Wordpress installed in Standard Mode and click the Backups button. App Centre applications list page

You will likely want to restore the most recent backup. Find the most recent backup and expand the selection by clicking the downward facing arrow to view more details and options for the backup. Manage Backups page

Choose to either Restore with backup or Restore. Restore with backup will make a backup of your current Wordpress install just in case you would like to restore it later. Restore options selection

Watch the status of the progress. The process may first perform a backup and then restore from the selected backup. Creating backup status

When the process is complete, you will receive a message.
