Make index.php the Start/Home Page for a Windows Hosting Package

For Windows hosting packages

By default, PHP pages are not added to the list of possible start/home pages. It is possible to add to the list via a web.config file. Please reference the bold line in the example below for more help on how to specify a PHP page as a start/home page.

<configuration>
<system.webServer>
<defaultDocument enabled="true">
<files>
<clear/>
<add value="index.php" />
<add value="index.aspx" />
<add value="index.asp" />
<add value="index.htm" />
<add value="index.html" />
<add value="home.aspx" />
<add value="home.asp" />
<add value="home.htm" />
<add value="home.html" />
<add value="default.aspx" />
<add value="default.asp" />
<add value="default.htm" />
<add value="default.html" />
</files>
</defaultDocument>
</system.webServer>
</configuration>
Please note:
Please be aware of the order of the page names as names higher in the list will take priority over those lower in the list. Therefore if you have both a index.php and index.aspx page, the index.php page will take priority (using the example above) and will be the page loaded when accessing your website.
