Debug (View Complete Exception Information for) ASP.NET Scripts

In this article you will be shown how to debug ASP.NET scripts that may be creating exceptions.

Exceptions are errors or unintended programme behaviours that occur while a programme is running. They indicate that a script needs to be "debugged" or fixed.

If you have noticed exceptions while your programme is running, you will want to view information regarding the exception in order to fix the script. To do this, simply create a file named web.config (or edit an existing one) and place the code below in it to view complete exception information.

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
<identity impersonate="true"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Please note:
This will display full exception information publicly and should only be enabled for short times while debugging.
