Import Data into a Database Using phpMyAdmin

For Linux packages with MySQL

In this article you will find information on how to use phpMyAdmin to import data into your MySQL database.

Follow the steps below to import data into your database.

Please note:
The current limit on importing a database using phpmyadmin is ~50MB.
Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.

Click the MySQL Administration link from the Hosting > Database panel.

Click phpMyAdmin for the database in question. Overview of databases

This will launch a new window where the phpMyAdmin for your database has been setup. Click on SQL from the toolbar. MySQL Control Center

Click on Import. Import Options

Click on Choose file to locate the file to import. Browse for file

Locate the MySQL file on your computer and then click on Open. Windows explorer

As long as the file does not exceed the maximum file size limit, you can click on Go to import the database. phpMyAdmin will report an error if the file is too large.
Please note:
If your database file cannot be imported via phpMyAdmin because of a large file size, you may import the database file with SSH if your package comes with SSH access.
