Transfer a Non-UK Domain Away from 1&1

The following steps will teach you how to transfer your domain away from 1&1 to another registrar.

It is suggested to initiate a domain transfer at least 1 month before the domain's expiration.
If you approve your domain for transfer to another provider, the domain will automatically be released by 1&1 after 5 days. During this time, can also reject the transfer by locking the domain.

Prerequisites:
  • The domain cannot have been registered or transferred in the last 60 days.
  • The account containing the domain must be in good standing. We do not hold domains due to payment.
  • The domain's contact information should be updated.
  • The domain must be unlocked for transfer.
  • The domain's authorisation code is needed (if applicable).
Please note:
Before transferring a domain away from 1&1, please backup all website files, databases, E-mail accounts, etc. as no data or configuration will transfer with the domain.

Some domains do not have Authorisation Codes assigned to them. For these domains, the Authorisation Code will not appear at the bottom of the list on the Info page.
