Name of a Website's Start/Home/Intro Page

There are specific file names that must be used for the start page of your website. You can pick any from the list below but avoid more than one start page file name as this may result in one taking priority over another and the wrong start page being displayed.

If you have a Linux Hosting package and both index.html and home.html files are located in the package, your website will show the index.html page as the website's start page since this file takes precedence over all other possible file names.

The lists below contains the the acceptable start page file namesfile, sorted by priority.

Linux Shared Hosting Packages

Microsoft Shared Hosting Packages

Please note:
For Internet-capable WAP mobile phones, the file extension must not be .html, but .wml. WAP pages are supported in all our packages. The default document's name would be home.wml or index.wml
