Change the Contact Details for a Domain

In this article you will find out how to update the domain contact details in your 1&1 Control Panel.

Each registered domain include contact details that are entered into the WHOIS Database so that the domain owner can be contacted if necessary for various reasons. Follow the steps below to change these contact details.

Please note:
If the ownership details need to be changed on a Nominet domain, you will have to contact Nominet directly.
Step 1
Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.

From the Domains panel, click on Manage Domains.

Click the arrow icon next to the domain name in question to display an options menu. Domain center overview

Select Edit Domain Contacts from the Domain Settings section of the options menu. Domain center overview

Enter the updated information in the appropriate text boxes and check the box to accept the terms of the process. Once you have finished, click the Next button to proceed. Domains Contacts Editor

Review your updated domain contact information and then click Submit to finalize the process. Domains Contacts Overview

Once you have updated your contact details, you will receive a mandatory domain E-mail verification to ensure that each domain has a verified E-mail address.
Please note:
Click the link provided in the E-mail within two weeks to ensure that the contact information is updated. If the new address cannot be verified, the contact information for the domain will revert to the original contact details after two weeks.
