What constitutes "substantial content"?

There must be a strong, direct relationship between the requested search term and the content, purpose or theme of the Web site.

The following are the criteria that would fulfill Y!SM's requirement for substantial or sufficient content:

  • Detailed (comprehensive) product or service information or reviews.
  • Detailed reference information about the subject implied by the search term.
  • Comparative information spanning multiple dimensions, such as pricing, features or availability.
  • Drop-down menus for car hire and travel sites
  • Yellow pages and directory site listings
  • Search engine results
