Include a Map on a 1&1 MyWebsite Page

In this article you will be explained how to insert a Google Map into your 1&1 MyWebsite.

Adding a map with the Google Map element to your website can help your viewer locate your business or businesses, if you have multiple addresses. To add a map to your website, follow the steps below.

From the main menu on the right-hand side, click Insert Elements.

Select Contact & Communication and then click and hold Google Maps.

Drag the icon to the area of the page where you want the image to appear. Release the mouse button when you have positioned the element in the correct location.

Click the element to open it. Then, enter an address into the Map Search text box and click Search.

The map will reposition and zoom in on the location if it was found. To add a marker on the map in the correct place, click Add a new destination here.

A marker is placed on the map in the correct location. Enter a Title and Description for the marker. It is suggested to name the title the same as the address.

When finished, click Save.

The marker will be placed with your title and description on the map. At this point you can click Save or scroll down below for more options for your map.

Your map will be added to the page using the locations and options chosen.

Map Options

It is possible to specify other map options such as:

  • Adding more locations to a map by using the search function again.
  • Using the zoom and placement arrows to show a specific area of the map you choose.
  • Showing the Satellite, Hybrid, or Terrain views instead of the default Map view.
  • Changing the Map height to alter the size of the map on the page.
  • Adding a Scale reference to the bottom of the map.
  • Adding the Map Overview to the bottom right of the map.
